AHOS Graduate and PhD Admissions Policy on Accreditation of Undergraduate Degrees

AHOS  accepts undergraduate degrees from institutions that hold regional accreditation as the standard qualification for admission into its Graduate and PhD programs.

Undergraduate degrees from institutions accredited by national accrediting bodies, such as the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) is a nationally recognized accreditor, acknowledged by both the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). DEAC primarily accredits distance and online institutions. While nationally accredited degrees are valid, they may not meet all academic standards required for graduate study at regionally accredited universities.

Applicants who hold a bachelor’s degree from a nationally accredited institution must submit official transcripts for individual review at admissions@ahos.edu. The AHOS Admissions Committee will evaluate the academic rigor and content of the degree program to determine eligibility for admission into the Master’s and PhD programs.
