With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Sergio (Abad), Archbishop of Santiago and All Chile, the Antiochian House of Studies was represented at the first meeting of the Ecumenical Fraternity of Chile’s Schools of Theology. The representatives were the Academic Dean, Rt. Rev. Archimandrite Fadi Rabbat, and alumnus Fr. Cristian Sylva.

Fr. Sylva explained the programs, curriculum, and mission statement of the Antiochian House of Studies, while Fr. Rabbat highlighted the MPCC (Master of Pastoral Care and Counseling) and doctoral programs as the unique accredited institute offering a PhD in Orthodox Studies, the success and integrity of our hybrid programs, and our heritage as heirs of the historic School of Antioch. Our Dean, in consultation with Fr. Rodrigo Polanco, Academic Dean of the Faculty of Theology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, discussed and agreed to pursue future collaboration via a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The meeting also featured a roundtable discussion on the courses necessary for every school of theology and on suggested courses to monitor in order to address the new needs of this era. The next steps include the development of the MoU framework and timelines, and the formation of a joint working group to explore specific areas of cooperation. Further details and timelines will be announced as the collaboration progresses.
How nice that, with the blessing, prayers, and spiritual support of our Beloved Metropolitan Saba, our school is growing every day, and Orthodoxy is becoming more known and expanded, for the Glory of God.
