The Antiochian House of Studies was blessed to celebrate its first hierarchical Divine Liturgy in its chapel, presided over by His Grace Bishop Anthony Michaels. This sacred and historic occasion marked a significant milestone in the life of AHOS.
During the Liturgy, His Grace delivered a deeply inspiring and pastoral homily, commending AHOS for its faithful dedication and the remarkable fruit of its academic and spiritual mission. His words affirmed the vital importance of theological formation rooted in the living Tradition of the Church and encouraged steadfast perseverance in this noble endeavor.
At the conclusion of Divine Liturgy, His Grace laid his hands upon Dr. Haitham Matar to serve as a subdeacon in the Antiochian Archdiocese. Dr. Matar, a devoted and committed member of the AHOS Board of Directors, has consistently demonstrated faithful service and steadfast dedication. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to him and proclaim with joy: Axios! He is worthy!
We also express our sincere gratitude to His Eminence Metropolitan Saba, His representative Bishop Anthony and to Deacon Elia Ammari for their presence, prayers, and support on this blessed Sunday.
May this holy season of Great Lent be for us all a time of repentance, renewal, and spiritual growth.
Blessed Lent.
